Audio Engineering

Audio Engineering

I have a solid education in audio engineering and I bring a calm and collected attitude to the studio. I believe strongly that life is worth being recorded. Most people invest thousands in musical gear and years of effort playing in bands with no recordings to show for it. Don’t let that happen. Contact me and I’ll get you a professional recording you’ll be proud of. I currently have 16 channels available for live, mobile recording. I am also in contact with many affordable studios in the Seattle/ Olympia area.

Here are some examples of musicians I have recorded.

The Brambles

This band gives an amazing performance whether live or in the studio and it was a pleasure to work with them. I recorded and mixed using Logic both in the Evergreen 16 track studios and in the band’s practice space in Seattle using my mobile rig.

Liliana Hudgens

Liliana is a singer/songwriter from Olympia Washington. We used ribbons and dynamics to match the old school gospel aesthetic Liliana was after. Recorded  using a 2488 API console with Logic. The track was part of The ESMP album, which is available for download here.

Joshua Plaster

Joshua is another talented singer/songwriter from Olympia Washington. I emphasized using very few mics on this song for a pure and simple approach. The track was part of The ESMP album, which is available for download here.

 Adam Stauffer

Adam is a good friend of mine who brought his wisenborn guitar over to my house one day and I couldn’t resist the chance to record such a unique instrument. I recorded and mixed this track using Pro Tools at my home studio in Olympia Washington with a pair of large diaphragm condensers.

Chris House

Chris is a singer/ songwriter from Olympia, WA. I tracked his Taylor guitar to Pro Tools using a pair of TS-1 small diaphragm tube condensers into an vintage API 1604 console in the Evergreen recital hall.

Jacob Ford

Jacob is a West Seattle Hip Hop artist that invited me to polish up his first album. He bravely handed me his Pro Tools sessions and gave me free reign to give them that extra something. Here is a before and after example of one of his tracks.
